Referral process

You are welcome to attend Calmness Psychology privately without a referral, or with a referral obtained from your GP.
If you feel you would be suitable for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) or Eating Disorder Care Plan (EDCP) please discuss this with your treating GP. If you have a referral in place or currently awaiting an appointment with your GP, please reach out and we can discuss pre-booking an appointment for when your referral is obtained. Please note that all referrals will need to be received prior to your initial consultation.
Rebates

Rebate's are available from Medicare and most private health funds.

Medicare

If you receive a referral from your GP under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) or Eating Disorder Care Plan (EDCP) you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $98.95 on your session fee. This is available for a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year for MHCP referrals and 20-40 sessions per calendar year for EDCP. The full session fee is payable on completion of your appointment and Medicare will reimburse your rebate to your nominated bank account generally within 24-48hours.
Private Health Insurance

Session fee's may be claimed under your private health insurer if a GP referral is not in place. Please note you will need to discuss with your individual health insurer your options for claiming. Private health claims are not permitted when also claiming under Medicare.
